How to COPY WII GAMES

There has not been much development on how to backup Wii games, but this should (in theory) work. Remember that in order to play your backup games you are going to need a modchip for the Nintendo Wii. Also remember that it is illegal to copy/download/pirate games. This tutorial is only for backing up purchased games.

MODCHIP FOR WII

First you need to have the proper DVD drive to backup your games, I’m serious no other DVD drives will be able to copy wii games. You MUST use this one specific drive, maybe split the cost between a few friends. Your DVD-ROM drive must be one of the following LG drives.

-LG-8162b

-LG-8161b

*** Remember you must use one of the above drives in order to properly copy wii games. You will also need a mod chip to play.

After you get your drive and install it (click her for instructions) you need to download some applications to help you through the process

*Raw dump 2.0

as well as software necessary to unzip the Raw Dump Files.. I personally like to use WinRAR

WinZip

After download the files you need to extract rawdump2.0.rar, extract them onto the desktop for easy access.

Then insert your Wii games into the LG drive, and run the rawdump2.0 exe file

After you run rawdump2.0 you click “Start Dump”. This whole process should not take anymore than 2.5 hours depending on the type of system you have. After the Wii game has been dumped onto your harddrive you will be see a finished message. The Wii game should be dumped into the same folder as RawDump2.0. Something like WiiGame.iso. Now that you have a Wii iso this file is ready to be burned, you may use any application you wish to do this. I recommend using Nero Burning Rom.

This last step is the most important step of all. You need to check your .iso file and see how large it is. Right click the *.iso and select properties.. it should be something around 4.37 GB (4,699,979,776 bytes) this is the EXACT size of the Wii game, if its any bigger or smaller then you have a bad dump and you must start the process over.

So last step is to open Nero.

Once Nero opens create a new dvd/cd/etc dialog. Once you have exited from this dialog you go to Recorder->Burn Image.

After you click burn image you will be asked to locate the image or *.iso file. Remember this file is located wherever RawDum2.0 is located, for me this is on my desktop; Select the game you want to burn. Make sure you burn the *.iso at a slow burn speed, especially if you are using cheap media. I recommend spending the extra money and get the higher end media. After all this hard work and fun you now have a backup of your purchased Wii game.
